A pavilion within Victoria Park in the west of Glasgow has been left gutted by a fire which took hold overnight last night.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service personnel were called to the scene just after 11pm after being alerted by locals to the sight of huge flames leaping out of the multi-sport pavilion building.
The pavilion, which is normally open on a seasonal basis between April and September, is located near to the tennis courts and bowling greens at the north side of the park near to the entrance on Victoria Park Drive North.
Locals have reported this morning that the pavilion has been 'pretty much destroyed' by the fire, with photos from the scene showing the roof completely caved in and debris spread all around the pavilion - which has now been fenced off for safety reasons.
SFRS confirmed to Glasgow Live that two appliances were mobilised to the scene, with firefighters remaining in an attendance for a number of hours as they fought to control the blaze.
There are no reports of any casualties.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: "We received a call at 23.16pm to reports of a property on fire within Victoria Park. we mobilised two appliances. There are no reports of any casualties and we are no longer in attendance.
"Fire crews left the scene at 4:13am this morning."
Meanwhile police have confirmed that enquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of the fire.
A Police Scotland spokeswoman saidL: "Around 11:55pm on Friday 21 May 2021, police received a report of a fire at the Sports Pavilion in Victoria Park.
"Emergency services attended and enquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of the fire."
