A popular vegan café in the southside, which is known for its support of the LGBTQ+ community, has announced it is sadly set to close.
The team behind Wee Plate Café on Govanhill Road, which was widely known for its queer brunch and dinner events, said they have taken the decision to close on February 18 with a "heavy heart" adding that it was due to a "change in circumstances".
Posting on their official Facebook page, they wrote: "We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you who supported us throughout our journey. Unfortunately, due to a change in circumstances, we have decided to close the business.

"We would like to invite you to come and join us for one last time to have a great time together and bid farewell to our beloved cafe. This would be an opportunity for us to express our heartfelt thanks to all our valued customers who made our cafe a vibrant and diverse community."
They stated that they will be collecting donations to help earthquake victims in Turkiye, especially LGBTQ members who are affected by the disaster, adding: "We believe that this would be a great way to honour our values of inclusivity and community support.
"Please join us on February 18th and let's make our last day together a memorable one. Thank you for being a part of our journey, and we hope to see you one last time at our cafe."
The event on Saturday, February 18 will run from 6 pm -11 pm and will be BYOB.
