Glasgow University's rowing club strip down for charity naked calendar

Glasgow University's boat club has launched two cheeky calendars to raise money for a cancer charity this Christmas.

Both the male and female rowing squads got their kit off at Glasgow Green for the saucy photoshoot – all done in good taste, we might add - in support of the Beatson.

The club's fundraising manager Jamie Wilson, 20, tells how they got their kit off at 6am on a freezing October morning for an eye-popping series of snaps in the park with help from the uni's Photography Society.

The student, who lives in Finnieston, tells Glasgow Live: "It was really chilly.. But we had a great time! It's quite funny because the pressure was on to get them all taken while it's still dark and no one can see you."

Last year's calendar sale raised more than £800 for the Beatson Cancer Charity in Gartnavel – and the students hope to smash their target this year.

Jamie added: "The Beatson are fantastic. They rely on funding from things like this for their amazing work.

"We went to the Wellbeing Centre and everyone is so happy and jolly. The staff really look after the patients and their families. It's a great cause to support."

The calendars are £10 each – with 40 per cent going to the Beatson. Get them here.
