Glasgow trains disrupted due to points failure between Central Station and Paisley

Commuters in Glasgow face being thrown into rush hour chaos as a result of a points failure on the railway between Glasgow Central Station and Paisley.

ScotRail confirmed at 6.50am this morning, services may be delayed on approach to Central Station as a result of the issue, as Network Rail's signalling engineers try to assess the problem.

ScotRail Tweeted: "Network Rail's signalling engineers are responding to a points failure between Glasgow Central and Paisley Gilmour Street.

"This is affecting Glasgow Central – Ayrshire/Inverclyde services which may be delayed on the approach to Glasgow Central."

UPDATE 7.05am: ScotRail confirmed: "Services are getting back to normal now. The points failure has been fixed."
