Glasgow trains disrupted as ScotRail cut power due to trespasser on line

Glasgow trains are disrupted this evening after a trespasser was on the line between Queen Street and Croy.

The person is now in the care of emergency services, however the line is not expected to be up and running as normal until at least 8.30pm.

Engineers had been forced to cut power to overhead electrical wires during the incident.

A ScotRail statement reads: "We have a report of a trespasser in the Eastfield area which is delaying our train between Glasgow Queen Street and Croy at present. The person is in the care of emergency services however the power to the overheads has had to be turned off from Queen Street to Croy."

A host of services scheduled to run between Glasgow and Edinburgh are affected as a result.
