Glasgow trains disrupted after object caught on overhead wires

Train passengers are experiencing delays this morning.

An object which was caught in overhead wires at Cardross has led to mass disruption on the line.

It's affecting services which run from Balloch - Airdrie (covering the city centre) as well as some between Edinburgh and Helensburgh.

ScotRail say staff are on site.

A statement reads: "Our 0656 Helensburgh to Edinburgh train service had come to a stand at Cardross with reports of an object possibly trapped in its pantograph.

"The driver managed to regain power and the train is on the move to Dumbarton Central where the train will terminate."

It is thought the disruption will continue until around 10am, when services should have returned to normal.
