Update: The road has now reopened
A serious crash has brought the M77 to a standstill with reports of a multi-vehicle crash and fire.
Lanes 1 and 2 are closed southbound at Junction 3 Nitshill Road due to the crash which is believed to involve four vehicles. The on-slip remains closed but Lane 3 has reopened.
Fire crews and police are currently on the scene which unfolded around 5pm.
Congestion is causing tailbacks to Junction 1.
Stagecoach has confirmed that their X76 services will be delayed due to the closures.
Traffic Scotland said: "Emergency services are on the scene of the crash southbound on M77 J3.
"Northbound remains open.
"The road is likely to remain blocked for some time and drivers should expect delays."
