They have also warned drivers heading on the M74 to take care on approach.

Meanwhile, the Erskine Bridge is partially blocked southbound due to a road traffic collision. Traffic Scotland advise that traffic is able to get past, with police and TRISS on route to assist.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 11.10am on Tuesday, 26 October, 2021, we received a report of bricks on the Westbound carriageway of the M74, near to junction 2A.

"Officers are in attendance and two of the lanes are closed while the debris is removed. There are no reports of any injuries."

UPDATE - Lanes 1 & 2 (of 3) are reopened. Speed restrictions are in place, although traffic has eased.
