A landslip in the Shotts area has closed the train line between between Glasgow Central and Edinburgh.
ScotRail confirmed news of the disruption earlier and advised rail passengers traveling between the two cities to use services which run to and from Glasgow Queen Street Low Level instead.
They tweeted: "Due to reports of a landslip near Shotts, the line through there is currently closed. If you need to travel between Glasgow and Edinburgh, please use our services to/from Queen St Low Level.
Engineers are currently inspecting the line, with two replacement buses at Fauldhouse station expected to run a shuttle service between Fauldhouse and Bellshill, serving all stations.
ScotRail have advised that, due to physical distancing, capacity is limited on the buses.
The main line between Glasgow and Edinburgh to and from Glasgow Queen Street remains closed following significant flood damage after the Union Canal burst its banks near Polmont.
Network Rail estimate that the main line could remain closed for up to two months to enable repair works to be completed on a 1km stretch of the line.
