Glasgow Tory Annie Wells told she'll be 'set alight' in sick online post

Scottish Conservative Annie Wells was told she'd be "set alight" if she stepped foot in her own community.

The Glasgow MSP saw the sick message after posting a statement online about the 2014 independence referendum.

In response, a now-deleted post stated: "If she stepped foot in springburn she wid get set alight."

The Twitter account, @GRR95_, has since vanished.

Wells drew attention to the post by copying it to her own account.

She condemned the Tweet, and wrote: "Civic and joyous. Welcome to Scotland."

The exchange followed a video posted by Wells on September 18, the sixth anniversary of the independence referendum.

Wells wrote: "Six years ago the people of Scotland said No. We meant it then, we mean it now.

"Time for the SNP to get on with the day job."
