Commuters on their way to to Wishaw train station face travel chaos on the Glasgow Central line due to a signalling fault.

An issue between Shieldmuir and Wishaw on the Lanark-bound service has means the service is unable to call in town.

On Twitter Scotrail released a statement. It read: "Due to a signalling issue between Shieldmuir and Wishaw our Glasgow Central to Lanark services are unable to call at Wishaw.

"Our Network Rail colleagues are already on site. Once we’ve more information, we’ll let you know. Sorry for the inconvenience caused."
