Glasgow to host World Dodgeball Championships next year

Get ready to remember the five D's (dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge) Glasgow, because the World Dodgeball Championships are coming to the city in 2020.

The Emirates Arena in the east end of the city will play host to the tournament from September 1-6 next year, with 48 teams competing for the crown of World Champions - including current champions USA, Malaysia and the Great Britain Dodgeball Team.

With the ninth edition of the tournament the first time in the history of dodgeball that both cloth and foam dodgeball World Championships are played at the same event.

And those that will attend the event can expect dramatic dives, high-powered hits and game-changing catches to keep you on the edge of your seat as the best in the world face off against each other.

The competition schedule and further details will be published on British Dodgeball's website here in due course.

In the meantime, we can't think of a better excuse to stick the hilarious Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn movie of the same name on to reacquaint ourselves with Pete LaFleur, Pirate Steve, Patches O'Houlihan and co to get us excited for next year's event.
