Glasgow to Edinburgh train travel is free for 42-year-olds this weekend

Calling all 42-year-olds! A one-time ScotRail offer means you'll be able to get the train from Glasgow to Edinburgh for FREE this weekend.

The unique, if seemingly bizarre offer comes as a celebration of ScotRail's new Express trains, between Glasgow and Edinburgh, which take just 42 minutes to travel from Queen Street Station to the capital.

The rail operator says: "They say life begins at 40. Well we beg to differ. For all you lucky 42-year-olds, this weekend, we’re treating you.

"To celebrate the launch of our 42-minute journey on the Express trains between Edinburgh and Glasgow via Falkirk High, all 42-year-olds can travel free on this route on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 June 2019.

"Simply turn up and show your ID to enjoy the journey."

There are of course a couple of terms and conditions to bear in mind - the key one being passengers benefiting from the deal have to have been born between 2 June 1976 and 1 June 1977, and have valid proof of ID.

For further info on the offer, visit the ScotRail website, HERE.
