Glasgow to East Kilbride train line at a standstill as train breaks down

The ScotRail service between East Kilbride and Glasgow has been delayed due to a broken down train.

The delay currently means that East Kilbride, Hairmyres and Thonrtonhall stations will not be served.

ScotRail posted on Twitter: "Due to a broken down train at East Kilbride, services between Glasgow Central and East Kilbride will be delayed or terminated at and started back from Busby."

School's out in East Kilbride and Avondale for European election polling places  

They added that crew are currently fault finding and engineers have been dispatched and will arrive shortly.

Ticket acceptance has been agreed with First Bus in the meantime.
