A thug who fractured a man's jaw with a broom after he threw a microwave into his father's house has been spared jail.
Dhillon Beattie, 21, smacked Stephen Campbell on the face in Glasgow's Maryhill on April 1, 2020.
Mr Campbell accused Beattie's dad John of being a 'grass' and smashed his windows with a stick prior to being attacked.
Beattie pled guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to the assault to Mr Campbell's severe injury and permanent disfigurement.
Sheriff Martin Jones QC ordered Beattie to do 100 hours unpaid work.
Prosecutor Hannah Terrance told an earlier hearing: "Mr Campbell had been at the property before returning with a microwave.
"He threw the microwave through the window causing the glass to smash.
"Mr Campbell shouted grass, grass, grass, and made off."
Beattie meantime was informed of what happened to the property after returning home.
Mr Campbell returned later that day clutching a large metal pole which he used to smash the windows of the flat.
Beattie confronted Mr Campbell while holding the broom.
Miss Terrance said: "Mr Campbell told him that he got what he deserved.
"Mr Campbell began to back away and Beattie swung the broom at his face and it separated in two as he fell to the ground."
He was later taken to hospital for treatment to a fractured lower jaw, wounds to his cheek and lip and a head injury.
Miss Terrance added: "The cuts will heel but will leave scars on his cheek and lip."
