Glasgow taxi rank brawl leaves man with serious injuries after thug stamps on his head

Police in Glasgow are appealing for information after a man was seriously assaulted at a taxi rank in the city centre.

The attack took place around 00.30am on Thursday night at the rank at Buchanan Bus Station.

At this time a group of men standing at the taxi rank became involved in a fight. One of the men was knocked to the ground where he was punched and kicked to the head.

The 42-year-old victim was taken to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Police say the taxi rank was busy at the time of the incident as it was shortly after the Europa League Final.

Officers are appealing for anyone who was at the taxi rank who may have seen the incident to contact them.

Anyone with information should contact police via 101, quoting incident number 0132 of May 19, alternatively, calls can be made to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained.
