Glasgow tattoo studio queued round block in response to semicolon tattoo offer

An offer for Glaswegians to get themselves a cut-price semicolon tattoo as part of a studio's suicide awareness campaign has proved incredibly popular - with people queuing up to get theirs.

As we revealed last week, Kaya Tattoo Studio on Dumbarton Road in the west end has joined up with other tattoo parlours across the UK in the SemiColon Project event taking place today (April 5).

The worldwide drive to highlight and prevent has seen millions of people, including celebrities like Selena Gomez, get the special inking, which encourages people to keep going during tough times.

The semicolon was chosen as the significant symbol for the project, as it's used by writers when they choose to continue a sentence, rather than ending it.

And punters are snapping up the semicolon tattoos for £10 each - with all proceeds will go to mental health awareness charities such as SamH.

Walk-ins are available at the studio until 6pm this evening if you fancy joining a host of others in getting inked up for a good cause.
