Glasgow Summer Sessions travel and weather tips as 70,000 fans descend on Bellahouston Park

Around 70,000 music fans are set to descend on Glasgow 's Bellahouston Park this weekend for Summer Sessions.

The Cure, Foo Fighters and 1975 will headline the festival with Mogwai, The Twilight Sad and Slaves, all supporting over the three days.

Tonight will see rockers The Cure take to the stage for their first Scottish gig in 27 years.

And fans are being warned of wet weather ahead - it wouldn't be an outside gig in Scotland if it didn't rain. We're sure it won't put die-hard fans off, but gig-goers are warned to wear wellies or boots as the ground will be muddy.

Here's everything you need to know about this weekend's shows.

Set Times

4pm: Gates open

4:40pm: The Joy Formidable

5:40pm: The Twilight Sad

6:55pm: Mogwai

8:30pm: The Cure

11pm: Curfew

This will be similar on Saturday night when the Foo Fighters headline.

Weather

It’s been raining a lot over the past two weeks, so fans are reminded that ground conditions are expected to be wet and possibly muddy.

The forecast over the weekend is to expect rain, but no umbrellas are permitted at outdoor events so wear waterproof clothing.

Wellies and boots are recommended.

No folding or blow up chairs are permitted onsite

Travel

Parking is very limited at the Albion Car Park, close to Ibrox Stadium.

There are plenty of travel options to get to Bellahouston Park including the shuttle bus service which is running to and from Bellahouston Park from Buchanan Bus Station

Bag sizes

Bags larger than 30cm x 42cm (the size of a sheet of A3 paper/small laptop bag) will not be permitted at Glasgow Summer Sessions.

Those who need to bring bags will be separated into bag search lanes, and will be delayed as a result of longer searches.
