Glasgow Summer Sessions organisers warn revellers to 'wear wellies' and expect muddy site

The organisers of Glasgow Summer Sessions have warned revellers of the muddy conditions at Bellahouston Park today.

The wet weather from yesterday’s The Cure gig coupled with more showers expected later means that the site is very wet and boggy.

Despite the weather looking dry at the moment, organisers are encouraging festival goers heading to the Glasgow park this afternoon to wear wellies, boots and waterproofs in a bid to stop their favourite footwear being ruined.

A spokesperson for Summer Sessions said: "We’ve had to work hard to get the site ready overnight.

"We’ve put extra walkways in place and added hay across the site but fans should still expect festival style muddy conditions and look after themselves and friends when onsite.

"Although it’s sunny right now, we still strongly advise people to wear wellies, boots and waterproofs as it is very muddy underfoot.

"Leave your favourite trainers at home.”

The Foo Fighters are set to perform a sell out gig tonight, with thousands of revellers already on their way to the festival.

Hot Milk, The Van T's, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes, Slaves and Curfew are amongst the other artists performing today.

English rock band, The Cure, headlined Summer Sessions last night.

This was the first time in 27 years, the band performed in front of a Glasgow crowd.

Mogwai and Twilight Sad also performed yesterday.
