Glasgow Subway reduce service amid coronavirus crisis

The Glasgow subway will operate a reduced service amid the coronavirus crisis.

Last night, SPT bosses confirmed the subway will close earlier, with the last train departing St Enoch station in the city centre at 9pm.

On Twitter, it was announced services will be under continuous review, as subway staff emphasised the message only key workers should take a trip on the underground if the journey is 'absolutely necessary'.

The changes will start today.

SPT, who operate the Glasgow underground, issued a statement last night.

It said: "The Subway will close at 9pm, when the last train leaves St Enoch.

"We will be continually reviewing services and will update when any changes.

"Please only travel if you are an essential key worker and your journey is absolutely necessary."
