Glasgow subway closed amid reports of man 'covered in blood' and 'missing half his ear'

Glasgow Subway services have been suspended amid reports of a 'screaming man covered in blood at Bridge Street Station.

SPT bosses say both Inner and Outer Circles have been halted due to a passenger related incident.

British Transport Police confirmed there was a 'casualty' on the tracks.

An eyewitness told Glasgow Live that the victim was a blind man who was there with his guide dog but this has not been confirmed.

One local tweeted:  "Just seen a guy missing half his ear, clothing covered in blood screaming uncontrollably at Bridge Street Subway.

"Loads of first responders on scene."

Emergency services were called to the network after the alarm was raised earlier this afternoon.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: "We were called to Bridge Street Subway Station today 12.53pm after reports of a casualty on the tracks.

"We are currently on the scene dealing with the incident."
