Cops have taped off a Glasgow street after a man was hospitalised in an early morning attack.
A probe has been launched into the assault on Galloway Street, in the city's Springburn area, around 4.35am today.
The 44-year-old victim was raced to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment and has since been released.
Pictures on social media today showed a section of the street taped off with a police van present.
A Police Scotland spokesman urged anyone with any information on the incident to come forward.
He said: "We received a report of man having been assaulted on Galloway Street in Glasgow shortly after 4.35am on Saturday, 15 May.
"The 44-year-old man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment and has since been released.
"Enquiries are ongoing and anyone witnesses or anyone with information can call 101, quoting incident 0720 of 15 May."
