Glasgow street closed off by police after 'disturbance' as man rushed to hospital

Police have rushed to a Bailieston street this morning following an earlier disturbance.

Emergency services received reports of an incident on South Scott Street at 5.20am today.

A 27-year-old man has been taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where he is being treated for injuries, which are not thought to be life threatening.

A police spokesman confirmed that police were still in attendance at the scene.

"Police Scotland officers are in attendance at a property on South Scott Street following reports of a disturbance at 5.20am this morning. A 27 -year-old man has been taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

"Enquiries are at an early stage to establish the full circumstances."

First Glasgow confirmed that the road is currently closed due to the incident, with the number 2 bus service forced to redirect away from South Scott Street.

A tweet from the firm read: "Due to a police incident South Scott Street Baillieston is closed. The 2 is currently affected and will continue to Main St, down to Swinton roundabout & return via Main Street in both directions. We apologise for any inconvenience."
