Glasgow stabbings: Cops appeal to witnesses for video footage of horror hotel incident

Police are appealing for witnesses to yesterday's horror stabbing incident in Glasgow.

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity of West George Street at around 12.50pm on Friday.

Emergency services raced to a report of an incident at the Park Inn Hotel just before 1pm.

As officers rushed to the hotel they were confronted by a knifeman who had injured several people.

A few minutes later Police Constable Whyte, 42, was stabbed before armed police shot the suspect dead in the hotel.

Constable Whyte is now in a stable condition in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Today it was confirmed by Police that three of those injured were asylum seekers staying at the hotel, while the other two were hotel staff.

All five remain in hospital. One is critical but stable, and four are stable.
