The first shocking images have emerged as police swarmed Glasgow city centre after a major incident broke out.
Disturbing images showed a man bleeding on steps at the Park Inn Hotel in Glasgow this afternoon.
It comes after a suspect was shot and killed by armed cops after chaos erupted in the city centre this afternoon.
Police also confirmed an officer was stabbed while on the scene and is receiving treatment in hospital.
Assistant Chief Constable Steve Johnson said the incident is ongoing and the public should avoid the area, however there is no wider risk to locals.
He added:"Armed police officers attended the incident and I can confirm that a male suspect was shot by an armed officer.
"I would like to reassure the public that at this time we are not looking for anyone else in relation to this incident.
"I can also confirm that a police officer was injured while dealing with the incident and that officer is receiving treatment in hospital."
Officers from Police Scotland and members of the Scottish Ambulance Service were spotted on West George Street in the city centre just before 1.30pm.
