Glasgow southside's first gluten-free cafe Baked announces closure after less than a month

A Battlefield cafe has shut up shop after being open for less than a month.

Baked launched in Battlefield Road at the beginning of March, but due to claims they'd had issues with their landlords, owners were forced to close last Sunday.

Specialising in dairy-free, soy-free and vegan treats, Baked was the southside's first 100 per cent gluten-free eatery.

But boss Rachel Munro, who established her wholesale business back in 2015, told Glasgow Live she has plenty of plans to return very soon.

She's currently on the hunt for a new location to run her popular bakery brand from, and would welcome any suggestions if anyone has a suitable venue, which would be used for both retail and wholsale.

In a statement on her Facebook page, she added: "We are currently looking for a new outlet but to enable us to do so, we might need to look into some offers of investment that we have had and/or crowdfunding.

"If anyone knows of any shops that are for rent in Glasgow, give us a heads up.

"We will be back, I promise."
