Glasgow south side trains cancelled after rush hour signal failure

Several train services in Glasgow have been cancelled as a result of a signal failure, throwing commuters into rush hour travel chaos.

ScotRail confirmed Network Rail are currently working to resolve a signalling fault at Kings Park, in the south side of the city, meaning services between Newton, Lanark and Glasgow Central Station via Kirkhill may be cancelled, delayed or diverted via Maxwell Park.

The rail operator Tweeted: " NetworkRailSCOT have informed us of a signalling issue at Kings Park. Staff are currently on site and are working hard to get services back on schedule. Once we have more information from the ground we will keep you updated.", while also advising: "Passengers travelling from Newton for stations via Mount Florida are advised to travel to Glasgow Central and connect with the Glasgow via Cathcart Circle services which are running as scheduled."

For further updates on the trains this morning, follow ScotRail across their social media channels.
