Glasgow shrouded in freezing fog - your pictures of a frosty start to December

By many accounts it was a beautiful start to Sunday in Glasgow today - in spite of the fact we couldn't see very much.

That's because our city was blanketed by a thick freezing fog, reducing visibility which caused problems for many on Glasgow's roads.

Temperatures dipped to around -4C overnight, while it won't be any warmer than 2C throughout the day.

With the chilly weather brought a dense early morning fog which provided a perfect opportunity for winter snaps for those who were out and about to brave the elements.

Here's some of the best snaps our readers sent in, capturing the eerie start to December.

But the frosty weather isn't expected to last too long.

Forecasters say the temperature will soon warm up tomorrow, while we can expect more rainy spells later in the week - the mercury set to hit the double-figure mark once more.

For the full weather forecast for the week ahead, visit the Met Office website, HERE.

Thanks for all your photos this morning, Glasgow. And make sure to put some extra layers on if you're heading out and about today!
