Glasgow Showcase Leisure Park brawl leaves girl, 14, seriously injured

A 14-year-old girl has been left seriously injured in hospital following a large scale 'rammy' at a leisure park in Lanarkshire.

The incident took place at around 8.25pm on Friday, March 25, when a fight broke out between two groups of young teenagers.

She was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow for treatment.

A 13-year-old girl was also assaulted, and police have said that they have no doubt "others were injured" in the incident.

DC Shemain Murphy said: “We are treated the attack on the 14-year-old girl as a serious assault and also investigating the assault of the 13-year-old.

"However, I have no doubt others were injured during this incident and I would urge anyone to come forward who has information about what happened.

“This incident took place in an area busy with people trying to enjoy their evening. The large crowd of youths caused a disturbance which was particularly intimidating for young children and families.

“With the area being busy, people may have taken pictures or videos on their mobile phones of what happened. There may also be dash-cam footage from the carpark."

Anyone with any information, pictures or footage of the incident, is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
