Glasgow shopping centre launches fundraiser for city's homeless community

Shoppers at this Glasgow mall are being asked to "share the light" to help homeless people.

A new initiative has been launched to raise vital funds for Glasgow City Mission, the charitable organisation which works to support vulnerable people.

From today, customers at the Forge can purchase a candle for £10, with all proceeds going to City Mission.

Jack Geddes, Marketing and Fundraising Manager for Glasgow City Mission, said: "Glasgow City Mission is very grateful and excited that the Forge is running the Share the Light campaign for the benefit of people who are homeless in our city.

"The work of the Mission is to transform lives in Glasgow and this campaign will allow us to offer hospitality and support during the most trying months of the year.

"Glasgow City Mission believes in shining a light into darkness and wholeheartedly supports Share the Light.

Shoppers can find the candles at the Customer Service Desk within the centre and there are six choice scents available.
