Glasgow shopper appeal to reunite family with ashes found in Home Bargains car park

A Glasgow shopper has appealed for the public's help to reunite a family with the ashes of their loved one after they were left outside a Home Bargains store in the city.

The ashes were discovered in the car park at The Forge Shopping Centre in Parkhead earlier this week prompting an appeal for information.

Its believed that the family accidentally drove off and left the ashes after loading their shopping and young child into the car.

The member of the public who came across the ashes has appealed for help to trace the owners.

A post appeared on community Facebook group No1seems2care reading: "I found the ashes of a Mr William Welsh in the car park at Home Bargains at the Forge.

"I'd like to get them reunited. The couple who drove away were busy getting the kid in the car and shopping and must of forgot to put them back in.

"Thank you. PEOPLEDOCARE."

The post has gathered 583 shares and dozens of comments from people hoping to help reunite the ashes with their owners.

Among the commenters was the owner of a funeral care business in the local area who offered to help try and locate the family.

It's not known whether the rightful owners have been traced.
