Glasgow set to welcome vegan Christmas market this weekend

A fully vegan Christmas market is set to open up this weekend, bringing festive offerings to the city centre.

Housed in Drygate Brewing Co, the event is hosted by Generation Veg and kicks off at 11am on Sunday. With sweet treats, sustainable market stalls, vegan information stalls, beauty demos and an on-site bar - there really is something for everyone.

Just in time for the festive season, and with 25 different businesses getting involved, the event is the perfect place to do some Christmas shopping - or treat yourself.

Speaking about the market, organisers said: “We showcase small, local businesses that our community loves to support too.

“Strictly vegan products only, we have 25 stalls with hot food, sustainable beauty, clothes and homeware, skincare, pet products and charity information stalls. And of course - sweet treats.

“Drygate is a wheelchair accessible venue, and welcomes families and pets alike. You can also book tables to try their new vegan options after the market - or simply enjoy a cold one on the outdoor terrace.

“We’re a small team that’s passionate about giving back and we donate a portion of our profits each year to charities that mean something special to us.”

This year, the events will be donating to five different charities - Unicef Ukranian Child Crisis Appeal, Glasgow Association of Mental Health, Go Vegan Scotland, Lotus Animal Sanctuary and Emmaus Homeless Charity.

Tickets for the market are priced at £3.83, or can be purchased on the door, and more information is available here.
