Glasgow ScotRail passenger falls ill on Paisley bound train as line closed

A passenger has fallen ill on a train making its way to Glasgow from Paisley Gilmour Street station.

ScotRail announced that the line had been closed in a tweet posted at 1.02pm on Saturday October 9.

A spokesperson for ScotRail added that McGills buses would now be accepting train tickets and Smartcards.

It is unclear what exactly happened to the passenger and what their current condition is.

A spokesperson for ScotRail said: "Due to a passenger being taken ill on a train at Paisley Gilmour Street the line towards Glasgow is closed.

"Ticket Acceptance is now in place with McGills.

"Just show your valid ticket or Smartcard to the driver when you board the bus."

It comes after a number of service alterations this morning and ahead of planned strike action continuing tomorrow.
