Glasgow schoolkid's brilliant model of the Barrowlands receives venue's seal of approval

A Glasgow schoolkid's model of the Barrowland Ballroom has received the seal of approval - from the iconic venue itself.

9-year-old Ciaran Hamilton made the brilliant work as part of his upcoming school project, which the youngster will present tomorrow (Monday, October 7) at St Thomas' Primary School in Riddrie.

And mum Victoria was left so impressed by his efforts that she took to Twitter to share it for the world to see, via a post which reads: "My kid is a complete model making boss. This is his Glasgow Landmark for a school project. Complete with lights and folk drinking in the street. Kinda want to keep it."

The post saw Twitter users in Glasgow voice their positive opinions about the model, with responses from folk ranging from "Love it, get in on display in the Peoples Palace" to "Are you taking orders?" and "Incredible effort".

And the post even caught the attention of the Barrowland's - who responded with: "This is brilliant, fantastic effort!".

Speaking to Glasgow Live, mum Victoria regarded the response from people to Ciaran's model on Twitter as "amazing" and told us that her son isn't shy of expressing his creativity via his passion for Lego and building things with sticks.

Here's hoping the wee man receives a lot of praise from his teachers tomorrow.

And just like the neon lights on the exterior of the Barrowlands, it looks like he has a bright future ahead of him!
