Glasgow schoolgirl named winner of UK's messiest bedrooms competition

A Glasgow schoolgirl has been named the winner of the UK's messiest bedrooms competition.

Eight-year-old Emily landed the prize after parents from across the country shared 'shocking' photos of their untidy rooms.

Emily's dad Steve says it takes less than a week after a tidy-up session for his daughter's bedroom to look like a 'bomb zone' once more, with the Glasgow youngster's room coming top of the pile out of more than 100 entries.

For her efforts, Emily has landed herself a new children's bed worth over £400, which her dad hopes will inspire her to be more tidy.

He said: “Emily unfortunately treats her room like more of a changing room and spends almost all her time in the family room instead (aren’t we lucky!).

"Anytime tidying is enforced it takes no more than a week to revert back to looking like a bomb zone. I’m hoping a new bed inspires positive change and behaviour!"

Bed retailer Happy Beds said: "An 8-year-old girl from Glasgow has been named the winner of the UK’s messiest bedrooms competition.

"After a nationwide search for the UK’s messiest children’s bedroom by bed retailer, Happy Beds, the winner will receive a new children’s bed worth over £400.

"Parents from across the UK have been sharing shocking pictures of their children’s messy bedrooms, with images showing toys and beds in total disarray, and very little carpet space!

"Sifting through over 100 messy bedrooms, Happy Beds has crowned Emily, 8, the messiest child of 2021."

Congratulations Emily!
