Glasgow schoolboy visiting every Oor Wullie statue in Scotland for charity

An adventurous Glasgow schoolboy is visiting every Oor Wullie statue in Scotland, while raising hundreds of pounds for charity.

Seven-year-old Christopher loved trying to find the next statue in the ‘Oor Wullie Bucket Trail’ while out shopping with his parents, and decided he'd take on the mammoth task of seeing every one of them - without realising the statues weren't just in Glasgow!

However, that hasn't deterred him, with the added motivation of raising hundreds of pounds for the Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity along the way - donations currently total over £400, eclipsing the £150 target.

Meanwhile, he has also signed up to do the charity's 10k walk around Glasgow, this Saturday.

Christopher's dad Allan told Glasgow Live: "So far Christopher has visited Glasgow, Hamilton, Queensferry, Edinburgh, Dundee, Inverness and the most northerly Wullie in North Kessock (walking across the Kessock bridge).

"He loves a challenge and decided to do it for charity, The Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity."

"He has walked over 50 miles and met some amazing people on the trail too.

"His favourite statue was in Aberdeen and called ‘We All Scream For Ice Cream’, by artist Lindsey Gardiner. Christopher likes it because he is sitting on an ice cream cone bucket and has sprinkles in his hair."

A fantastic effort Christopher - best of luck with the rest of the trail!
