Glasgow School of Art first pictures revealed from inside fire-ravaged building

The first images of the fire-ravaged Glasgow School of Art have been released following a devastating blaze last year.

The famous building was left completely destroyed in June last year after the inferno ripped through it’s walls - the second in four years.

The interior photos show the badly damaged foyer and west tower of the Charles Rennie Mackintosh-designed building.

Just walls and structural beams remain, but despite the damage, Glasgow School of Art board chairwoman Muriel Gray has insisted the building will return.

On Friday she hit back at politicians who accused the school of not doing enough to safeguard the building and called for a public inquiry.

She accused contractor Kier of a lack of transparency and MSPs of failing to hold the company to account.
