Two pupils from the same Glasgow school have passed away.
Head-teacher at Lourdes Secondary Gerry McGuigan broke the news in a tweet yesterday afternoon.
He didn't name either of the young people involved, but offered support for pupils struggling to cope with their loss.
He posted: "It is with deep regret that I inform you that two pupils from our school community have sadly passed away.
"Please keep both pupils and their families in your thoughts and prayers.
"If any pupil requires support at this very difficult time please contact your PC Teacher."
The sad news was met with an outpouring of support from schools across the city.
Oakwood Primary posted: "Heartbreaking news, so sorry to hear this, we’re holding your school community and the pupils friends and family in our hearts at this awful time."
Abercorn Secondary added: "Condolences to the pupils family and friends and the Lourdes Community, thoughts and prayers with you all from everyone in Abercorn."
Eastbank Academy messaged: "Keeping yourselves, the families and the pupils in our thoughts."
And St Fillans Primary posted: "Heartbreaking. Sincere condolences from everyone @stfillansps You’re all very much in our thoughts and prayers at this time."
