Line of Duty: Glasgow salon receives requests for 'DI Kate Fleming' haircuts

It seems that Glasgow, like everywhere else in the country, has been fully gripped by the exploits of Ted Hastings and the team as they hunt for bent coppers in the sixth season of hit BBC cop drama Line Of Duty.

We reported how fans of the hottest show in town - which bums across the nation glued to sofas on a Sunday night - couldn't stop talking about Kelly Macdonald's accent in her role as DCI Joanne Davidson, with opinions ranging from obsession to irritation.

And it seems things are about to get even more nail-biting for the millions of viewers after Martin Compston, who plays DI Steve Arnott in the cop drama, teased fans that they will "need therapy" after watching tonight's episode.

Speaking of our city's love for the show, it seems it has extended - bizarrely - as far as the haircuts the characters have, with iconic Glasgow salon Taylor Ferguson revealing that some customers have asked for hair 'just like Line of Duty's Kate Fleming'.

Taylor, who has cut the hair of celebrities including Lulu, Cherie Blair, Penny Lancaster and Michelle Mone, said that he'd had several customers enquire about actress Vicky McClure's cut on the show since reopening in the last few weeks, the Daily Record reports.

He said: "We've had some people asking for hair just like Line of Duty's Kate Fleming and it is quite catwalky looking, and like something you'd see in a style magazine.

"It is very celebrity led and an easy to maintain cut."

Featuring a deep side parting and dramatic sweep peppered with warm copper highlights, the cut, which is short and above the ears, is low maintenance and ideal for the sunnier weather - which may explain it's surge in popularity.

What do you think Glasgow? Will any of you be asking for a 'Kate Fleming' next time you go to the hairdressers? Do let us know in the comments!
