Glasgow's weekend weather set for highs of 28C according to Met Office

The Met Office issued a thunderstorm warning today. You can read the updated weather warning here.

Glasgow has seen high temperatures this week with much of the city trying to find ways to keep cool.

Yesterday (August 12) forecasters warned the city will see a switch up in weather over the weekend with meteorologists at BBC Weather predicting rain, thunder and possible lightning.

However in an update, the thunderstorm warning appears to have cleared.

And now with the thunderstorm warning now gone, according to both the BBC and Met Office, the weekend is now set to remain sunny and dry with a low chance of rain throughout the two day period.

The change comes as an Aldi worker has asked customers to 'be kind' during the soaring temperatures and to "spare a thought for the people that are working in this heat."

So what does the weekend weather look like? On Saturday (August 13), the city should experience highs of 27C followed by lows of 13C. During the day the chances of rain is set to remain fairly low with the highest chance reaching 10 per cent.
