Glasgow's weather to remain dreich whilst UK sizzles in highs of 28C

The summer months are officially here and soon people will be making their way to Glasgow Airport, jetting away to a sunny destination and putting their feet up to relax by the pool.

With June and July always comes better weather however for some it's not quite reached that stage yet and things are slowly warming up.

According to forecasters, London's weather is set to soar to 28C on Wednesday (June 22) and Thursday providing a heatwave for the majority of those living down south this week.

But sadly, in a shocker to nobody, Glasgow isn't so lucky with rain and cloud set for much of the week.

Despite a dry and bright day today (June 20), according to the Met Office and BBC Weather, tomorrow will see a change with highs of 18C whilst Wednesday will see highs of 17C - both of which will be fairly dreich.

It will then go back up to 18C on Thursday and remain the same throughout Friday and despite highs of nearly 20C, it won't exactly be 'taps aff' weather with the weekend predicted to be much the same.

So what does the weather look like for the week ahead?

Met Office: Glasgow's seven day weather forecast

Today

Some late sunshine the south this evening. Otherwise a cloudy night with some patchy rain and drizzle. Misty low cloud developing along the Argyll coast. Minimum temperature 12 °C.

Tuesday

A little light rain at first, otherwise mainly dry and rather cloudy. Some brightness breaking through in places by afternoon. Misty along the Argyll coast. Warm in any sunshine. Maximum temperature 18 °C.

Wednesday to Friday

Wednesday and Thursday will be dry with some sunny spells, and becoming warm, though Argyll may stay cloudier.. Then more unsettled on Friday with rain or showers.

Weekend

A generally unsettled start to the period as a band of potentially heavy rain continues to move east across the UK on Saturday. This is followed by sunny spells and showers, some heavy and possibly thundery. Sunny spells and showers, the latter being most frequent in the north, continue to dominate into the start of next week.
