Glasgow's temperatures to fall to sub zero on Christmas Eve according to BBC Weather

Next week, Glasgow is set to experience temperatures below zero as the big day gets closer.

And on Christmas Eve, they will fall to -1C with highs of just 4C.

In their predictions. the Met Office have added that from Monday (December 20) the weather in Glasgow will be "settled and predominantly dry with large amounts of cloud" which could become thick enough for the odd spot of drizzle at times.

This will in turn increase the risk of overnight fog and frost which may be slow to clear by day in some areas.

Towards the middle of the week, there will also be an increase in chances for more unsettled and windier weather with rain, and perhaps snow, possible for some places with fog set to persist in the north and northwest.

Although weather forecasters have been predicting a White Christmas for Glasgow and other parts of Scotland, sleet is likely to fall on December 25 rather than heavy snow.

Looking at our weather for today and the rest of the week, the majority of Thursday is looking dry and cloudy with the odd rain shower happening across Glasgow and Lanarkshire.

Some patchy frost and fog however is set to develop overnight.

Friday (December 17) is set to be a dry day with some cloud in the south and sunshine in the north. The same applies to the weekend though weather forecasters at the BBC do warn of mist across both days with highs of 5C and lows of 2C.
