Glasgow's Six by Nico restarts popular home fine dining takeaway amid lockdown rules

Six by Nico's popular home delivery service in Glasgow is back following the latest lockdown restrictions on pubs and restaurants.

The 'Home by Nico' service will provide customers with a five-course fine dining meal from the comfort of their living room as it returns for the next for 16 days.

Chef Nico Simeone's latest theme is 'Sicily', which makes its debut for home cooks with the return of the sell-out takeaway service.

From today, customers will be able to pre-order the menu which will run from Friday October 9 to Sunday October 25.

It comes as Nicola Sturgeon announced new restrictions on the hospitality industry this week, banning alcohol inside pubs and restaurants.

Eateries in the central belt face harsher rules, with all venues shut for dine-in customers.

Restaurants and cafes in the central belt without an alcohol licence are able to open to dine-in customers from 6am to 6pm.

Chef Nico Simeone said: "Many of our customers will miss the ritual of going out to eat over the next 16 days but being at home during this 'circuit break' period doesn’t have to mean going without the finest restaurant cooking.

"Our Sicily home dining experience will allow customers to enjoy a unique ready-to-bake meal accompanied by exquisite wine in the comfort of your own home."

In April, Chef Nico launched Home by Nico across Belfast, Manchester, Liverpool, Glasgow and Edinburgh to allow people to experience the food from the comfort of their own homes.

The home delivery kits proved a huge success from the restaurant brand, who served over 100,00 customers during lockdown.

It was paused in June as the popular brand focused on re-opening all Six by Nico restaurants.

Home by Nico will be available to pre-order online from 9am on Friday October 9.

A limited number of home kits per day will be available for collection only from Saturday 10th October from The Finnieston restaurant.

Customers will be able to book a collection point daily between 12pm to 7pm.
