Glasgow's Riverside Festival announces huge return for 2021 with three-day event

Glasgow's Riverside Festival have announced plans for a huge return for 2021, adding an additional day featuring newly announced Jamie xx as their Friday headliner.

Scotland’s premier electronic music festival will return to the grounds of the Riverside Museum on the banks of the Clyde for three days for the first time, following the cancellation of the 2020 event.

RF21 will take place on the weekend of Friday, May 28 - Sunday, May 30 next year, with organisers promising it will be the biggest and best celebration of music - and of life - RF has ever thrown.

RF21 will also mark Jamie xx’s first trip to Scotland since his show at the O2 Academy for his debut album ‘In Colours’ tour back in 2015, while original headliners, dynamic dance duo Disclosure and techno phenomenon Amelie Lens, have also been secured for RF21.

Mark Mackechnie, co-founder of Riverside Festival, said: "We were all devastated that 2020 seems to have been wiped off the map for the festival season, so we are delighted to announce the next years Riverside Festival will be a three-day affair with three stages per day, running over the May Bank Holiday Weekend.

"Things are really coming together for this and with Jamie xx, Disclosure and Amelie Lens already confirmed with much more to be announced soon.

"We know the Scottish fans of electronic music are champing at the bit to get back on the dance floor - so are we, so this really is going to be one massive release of energy from performers and the audience alike."

Curated by Electric Frog and Slam’s Pressure, they will be bringing many scene-leading, cutting-edge and underground artists and DJs to the iconic location that is Glasgow's Riverside Museum.

All tickets bought for this year’s original festival will remain valid, with weekend ticketholders receiving a three-day weekend upgrade for no extra cost. Tickets are available HERE.
