Glasgow's Queen's Park voted best place for a picnic with most nearby facilities

Despite Glasgow now returning to its usual dreich state, we are still technically in picnic season.

As soon as there's a hint of sun on the forecast, there's no stopping us from getting the bag packed and heading straight to the park for some alfresco dining.

And, according to new research, Queen's Park is the best place in Glasgow to go for a picnic with pals. The study looked at parks across the UK and cross-examined the ones with nearby toilets and supermarkets to find out which parks are the best to visit.

Queen’s Park in the south side ranks amongst the Top 10 best parks to have a picnic in the UK, with 17 facilities, including 1 toilet and 16 shops. It also comes top among Scotland's best picnic spots.

Barrowland Park and Dalmuir public park also made the list with Kelvingrove Park not even getting a mention which we're sure will raise an eyebrow or two.
