Glasgow's Queen Margaret Drive closed off as police race to 'ongoing incident'

A busy road in Glasgow has been sealed off by police as part of an "ongoing incident".

Emergency services raced to Queen Margaret Drive near the Botanic Gardens at around 11am this morning.

The road is currently closed to all traffic between Oban Drive and Great Western Road.

Pictures taken from the scene show a large emergency response with officers in attendance.

A cordon has been set up at the scene.

Diversions have been put in place.

Police confirmed they are in attendance following reports of "concern for a person".

Council bosses have urged road users to consider alternate routes if possible.

First Glasgow has also issued a list of diversions for its 8 and 90 services, with changes to its normal routes from Byres Road at Great Western Road, Kirklee Road and Tesco Maryhill Road.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers are currently in attendance in Queen Margaret Drive, Glasgow after reports of a concern for a person.

"The road is currently closed."
