Glasgow's Platform 18 virtual festival to be streamed live on Saturday

Glasgow's Platform 18 festival is going virtual tomorrow, with a host of big name DJs set to get behind the decks.

The techno festival, held annually under a railway bridge on Tradeston's West Street, had to be postponed until next summer on account of the coronavirus crisis.

However, that won't stop the likes of Fraz.ier and festival founder Ivan Kutz live-streaming their sets - from 4pm tomorrow (Saturday) - with all proceeds from the virtual gig going towards local mental health charity SAMH.

Meanwhile, tickets are already available for next year's street festival, which will feature the likes of Richie Hawtin, Floorplan and Fjaak.

Set times for tomorrow's virtual festival (Platform18)

The team behind Platform 18 say: "On Saturday July 4th, Glasgow's Platform 18 invite you to join an online stream headlined by Jackmaster, Frazi.er, Maria Airam b2b Lunarplatz and founder Ivan Kutz. The stream will be raising funds for the charity Scottish Association for Mental Health, who Platform 18 have worked with from the start, and is a great way to come together and forget whatever woes you may have during these strange times.

"The stream runs from 4pm until 9pm and plays out on the same day that this year's festival was meant happen with world class headliners Richie Hawtin, Floorplan, Fjaak (live), ANNA and more all playing one visually spectacular main stage in a unique urban setting.

"Platform 18 offers something new and fresh for Glaswegian house and techno lovers and has done since 2013. It comes from the mind of a promoter who has been putting on events for over 12 years and gives you an intimate connection with DJs: everything is set up so the raver and DJ are in sync, the selectors can join punters in the crowd for hugs and even high fives during set and they have done many times in the past, which always makes this a very special and standout occasion.

"While this stream won't replace the main event, it is a great way to connect with likeminded raves, from the safety of your own home, and hear some cutting edge electronic music by some masters of the form.

"Donations can be made to SAMH at any time via the JustGiving page https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/platform18streetfestival."
