Glasgow's new Virgin hotel on River Clyde accepting bookings ahead of opening later this year

Glasgow's new Virgin hotel is now accepting bookings ahead of it's much-anticipated opening later this year.

The hotel, situated on the River Clyde near to St Enoch Square, will feature 240 rooms spread across 15 floors, as well as a 'neighbourhood-driven design' and four dining and drinking spots for guests to choose from during their stay.

The food and drink spots include the 'playful and sophisticated' Commons Club, Virgin Hotels' flagship restaurant and bar that acts as a modern-day social club; Highyard, for entertaining, co-working and dining; Funny Library Coffee Shop; and the elegant late-night bar, Rocks.

About the forthcoming opening, James Bermingham, Chief Executive Officer of Virgin Hotels, said: "We're thrilled to share our second hotel in the UK in a completely different city, Glasgow.
