Glasgow's most viewed home in 2019 revealed - and it's a beauty

The most viewed home for sale in Glasgow this year has been revealed - and it's an absolute beauty.

There have been some cracking properties on the market all across our city in 2019, but which one listing has had more clicks than any other?

We put the question to RightMove today, and here's the number one home in Glasgow - a stunning six bedroom villa in the south side of the city. It's easy to see why this place is so popular.

Described as a "beautifully proportioned arts and crafts residence", the detached property is found on Sherbrook Avenue, in the West Pollokshields Conservation Area.

The home, named Balmory, features a drawing room, dining room, morning room, music room, library, wine cellar and basement with potential for a cinema and gym or spa suite.

A B-listed building, the house was designed by W J Anderson - then director of architecture at Glasgow School of Art - in 1891 and built for David Mason, who went on to become Glasgow's Lord Provost and Lord Lieutenant.

As well as having an extensive garden, the character-filled home retains dozens of original features, and even has its own self-contained suite comprising two rooms and a wet room.

Of course, we couldn't resist shouting about the property when it first came on the market in September, as we compared the home to a mini Downton Abbey:

But, as with any unique, stately home, it doesn't come cheap, with the present guide price just shy of a seven-figure sum, at £975,000.

Marketed by Galloway & Ayrshire Properties, it's only been on the market for under three months, and we reckon it won't be hanging around long - RightMove confirmed from January 1 to 31 October it's attracted more attention than any other home in the whole of Glasgow.
