The M8 is currently closed to all traffic westbound following a serious road crash.
The incident happened between Junction at Baillieston and J7a at Shawhead, shortly after 9pm.
Road Traffic Scotland said: "M8 J8 (W) road is closed following a road traffic incident.
"Drivers are advised to use an alternative route where possible and expect some delay."
A Police Scotland spokesman said that the incident is currently ongoing.
Police are currently still on the scene.
They said: "We are currently dealing with an ongoing incident on the #M8 #Westbound and the motorway is currently closed at #J7A westbound.
"Please avoid the area and follow any diversions in place. Traffic is being diverted onto the #A725."
